79 Monza 2+2. A previous owner upgraded to 5 lugs. I notice that turning seems like its floating, turns fast. My question is... is this normal? Or is there something I need to check out?

What method was used to convert to 5 lugs? Light steering and fast steering are 2 different things. GM spec'd the front end alignment with negative caster which makes the steering easier (lighter). Adding as much positive caster helps with straightline tracking and adds a bit more feel to the steering. If the spindles were changed that could affect the steering ratio and turning radius. Most cars from the 70's also had power steering that was way over assisted to the point it didin't feel like the steering wheel was attached to anything. Late model cars have much more "feel" and that is what we have become used to.
