if any of you have changed to Rack and Pinion steering, you know what I'm talking about,
I have flaming river R&P, with 2nd design GM pwr steering pump ,( typically have remote reservoir)
when driving down the road you HAVE to pay attention, as the steering is so responsive (touchy) that you can/will loose control easily.
I have "overkill" A arms , upper and lower, S10 spindles/ brakes, and put as much castor in the alignment as possible,
still scary!
so researched all the "hot rod" sites for answers,
1st was pressure reducer / re stricter fitting in pressure side of hose ,at the pump, still scary.https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dsr- ... gKE1PD_BwE
I'd suggest not wasting your $$ on this,
so still more searching,
found this.......https://www.summitracing.com/parts/brg-899001
this uses shim to lower the pressure/ spring pressure in the pump, very easy install, I used 4 shim, of the 5 provided,
and I will tell you I now enjoy driving my car once again, it is more like a normal P/S system now, I have not checked the pressure, but std GM pump makes about 1200-1300 lbs pressure, ford R&P only requires 700-800 lbs pressure,
hope this helps some of you, before spending $$$ on the pricey adj pressure kit, https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Heidts-P ... gJ7pfD_BwE
plus all the lines required, and potential leaks.
