I was on the V8 Monza site looking at his vehicle list for the 5 lug conversion and it said 79-87 g-bodies. Aren't the 78s the same???

'78s are pretty much the same, they just use a rotor with a different outer bearing. It is the only "metric A"/G body that uses standard wheel studs instead of metric.

I don't know for sure but I thought those were always lumped together in product listings, with that in mind so is the '75 Monza with the rest of the '75 H-Body vehicles ['78 was also the first year of that style G-Body], and around here we all know that the first year had/has some anomalies, so maybe some one with more familiarity filtered from that list(?). Not an answer but now you have another avenue of investigation. Also the S-10 spindle is claimed by most Not All to be the same as above mentioned G-Body parts,[the few non believers claim the steering arms are a different length/Ackerman angle, This seems plausible, but the "S" trucks are a bunch of different lengths and the factory uses the same spindles across the board. The G-Body length is similar to the shortest Gen I "S" truck although a "hair" wider] so with out an intense side by side comparison, an actual definitive answer maybe a while off! :? :( Harry

Harry,

I found about about that rotor with the first S-10 spindle conversion I did on the Vega. I still have the rotors (drilled & slotted) and the spindles & calipers if you know of anyone that could use them.

So can the '78 G-body assembly be used with the different outside bearing, or does that make it impossible?
