Seats for my Monza.

Postby Buscop » Fri Jul 07, 2006 7:24 pm

What other GM or other type of seat will fit in the Monza? I have the originals and my wife.com wants something a bit more comfortable and maybe with more adjustments.

I bought a set of really nice ebony 4thgen leather seats and they didn't fit. They were about 1.5" too wide in total width.

I'm going to try a set of 3rdgen seats but I have my reservations about that, too.

I think I remember seeing somewhere that Fiero seats work?
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

Corbeau seats. They even sell brackets to bolt in to Monzas and Vegas.

4th gen seats fit a 3rd gen .........my guess is you will have the same issues with the 3rd gen seats !

At least I didn't pay $500 for the thirdgen seats :p I have a spare set for my yellow 85 IROC I will try. I think the leather had less "give" than the cloth.

The current seats in my car..oh boy, yick. You don't want those!

Very nice but were on a budget here.....those seats are a bit pricey..how about something from an existing car?

I heard that S-10 buckets would fit, but better measure twice before you buy once!!!

I had one time measured the seats out of my `92 Mazda MX-6, and they looked like they would fit perfectly... (And quite comfortable seats too) This would also mean the seats from the 88-92 F*rd Probe would fit also. (MX-6 and probe were the same car with different outside styling similar to monzas and vegas)

Maybe look at one when you hit a junkyard :)

I measured the stock seats and come up with a 20" width and 20" depth.

Seats

Postby jeffmgcar » Sat Oct 14, 2006 9:30 pm

I have gone to the junk yard, opps recycle auto parts center and have used seats from a Chevy Citation with buckets seats and a smaller Chevy of the mid to late 70's can't remember the name. These seat fully recline and have great lumbar support. I needed to build a small stell bracket to mount the seats in the car to the original bolt pattern.

Chevette will fit for sure; Cavalier and S-10 look narrow enough as well...
