panel restoration

Postby monzabug350 » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:33 pm

All my panels were "stinky" sooo I soda blasted them which took off the wrinkle finish. I came across this VHT paint and gave it a try. From the finished product I can say that this experiment worked out pretty good. :th: What do you think? PS,click enlarge to see all 4 pics. :?: :?:

slightly more wrinkly but not too bad. The question is... how well does it stick to the plastic? Did you use a plastic adhesion promoter? Body shops use this on bare plastics to get paint products to stick better.

Spyder,I just soda blasted them, wiped down with alchol, sprayed them with Brite Toutch Primer(BT49)from Advance Auto, then sprayed on the VHT wrinkle paint as per instructons. As to how it will hold up,I havent installed them yet.But I feel that the paint will stick. Thanks for the input.
