Local (MN) Racing Classes?

I started looking for a way to have legal fun with my cars and came across this

http://www.casc.on.ca/uploadedFiles/201 ... 100303.pdf

Are there any local (MN) events similar? I have done some reading up on Solo I & II racing and they really seem to fit the bill for what I 'm looking for. However, I know I would be embarrassed without even a little bit of training. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check for a local region of SCCA. I know the Milwaukee region holds an autocross school each spring. If you wanted to travel, here in northern Illinois Midwestern Council holds a couple of high-speed autocross schools each year. Check out mcscc.org .

Okay, so I am thinking that just jumping in might be the better way to go to get my feet wet, and than if I don't feel I'm progressing fast enough I could take a class. I did find the local region's website, but I am having trouble finding events. I went onto the calander and nothing is listed through June at least. Does anybody from the Land o Lakes region know where I could find a schedule of events?

Thanks.

I found a schedule in the LoL PDX/Solo Time Trial board section:

There are novice Driver's Schools April 24-25, and June 5-6. If you've never done this before, I would recommend at least the classroom instruction. But the track day would be valuable, since there are instructors present. Most times there will instructors available to ride with you.

not sure where in MN you are, but the Sioux Falls Corvette club holds auto crosses all summer. This year we are having 3 of them at the Worthington MN airport - www.siouxfallscorvetteclub.com all cars are welcome, the airport auto-x's are big and fast, tons of fun for beginners or experienced drivers.

Worthington is actually pretty convenient for me. You mention three events, but I only see one listed - June 5. Are there more events that are not on the calendar?

Thanks.

Yes, there are two more this summer that are not yet on the calendar, we haven't gotten them scheduled. Soon though!
