Wheel options for 190 TW tires on a Cosworth

Postby Cosworth1714 » Tue Nov 13, 2012 2:02 pm

If I could find a set of 190 TW tires that would fit the stock 13x6 rims, I would run them until I worked out an option for wheel adapters. However, since we are building a ChumpCar out of my '75 CV I would really like to get the reliability bugs worked out before putting out the money for adapters and wheels. 4x4 is a pain in the butt lug spacing (why oh why couldn't it have been 4x100!!) I cannot run DOT road race tires (tire wear has to be 190 or higher in ChumpCar).

Any road racers or AutoXers out there with similar issues? What did you do wheel/tire wise?

I liked the feel of 185/60/13's on my Vega. I was running a 2.92 rear, and that rear helped give me a bit better gear ratio. I'm running Nitto NT01's on my Camaro. I'll look around at what is available.

Wow. Finding anything in 13 inch that isn't an "R" compound, or an all weather dog is a pain. Still looking/asking around.
