Howdy All
Let me tell you a story about Mickey Thompson Tires,,I purchased 2 mickey et drags on ebay for the coupe ,the book reads that their 26 x 10 x 15 tire has a 9.6 tread width,my tire arrived and we were ready to mount them and notice they were actually 10.75 across the tread,i measured ten times and know i could fit 9.6 in my stock wheel wells,10.75 would not fit,,i was stuck,,i called east coast service at mickey thompson and told them the problem and emailed them a picture of the tires with a tape across the tread,in short we determined that the tires were incorrectly stamped from the factory, this was on tuesday late in the day, today, friday, i recieved 2 new 26 x 11.5 x 15 et streets, they measure 26.3 x 9.6 x 15 and are sticky just sitting there,,this is service,,WOW,,I can't wait to try them,I will never buy another line of drag tires for my cars again, read this and remember when your ready to purchase,,MICKEY THOMPSON CARES,,,,

Mounted tires on the car tonight and it looks awsome,,not a lot of room left but enough for a little side to side movment, I'm guessing about 7/16 on the insides between the tire and the inner wheel well,,something I found out that will help a lot of guys out there,,I laid the new mounted tires on the floor next to the 9 inch hoosiers still mounted on the 8 inch rims,I then laid a 4 foot level across the tire and slid it over the new one,,they are the same cross section to the t, but the new MT's measure just under ten inches tread width, hows this you might ask, after pulling the hoosiers off the rim I know the answer, the 9x26x15 hoosier measures almost 10 inches at rest across the bead,,the new 11.5x26x15 mt's measures 8 inches, mounted ,the hoosiers look like dounuts with very rounded sidewalls, and the mt's look more like a flat washer on the sidewall same size in all respects except the tread width,I don't know why it is but only one demension of the MT's are correct, the 15 part,no part of the tire is 11.5 wide and the tire is 26.3 high,,do I really care?? NO! they fit and look like steam rollers on the car,and if they are as sticky at the track as they feel now they will hook like crazy, three sessions left for the season and its over in the midwest,,snow is here and it does not look good,,is it too early to start begging,,COME ON SPRING!!!!!!

I agree. Mickey Thompson makes some great tires.

I am runing 2 in the rear - 31x13.5x15, and so far they have hooked up pretty well.
1974 Vega GT - 439 CI BBC / Powerglide / 9" rear. 10.44 @124 MPH 1/4 mile.
