Funny Observation...

Postby jdmrh07 » Fri Oct 27, 2006 5:53 am

Why is it that EVERY time I go cruising in the Monza --- there is NEVER--- not even ONE "Import"--- or believe it or not ZERO "Mustangs"?! Its actually nice in a way, cuz than I can just lay back and enjoy my cruise.

But here's the kicker: When ever I drive my old Cavalier Z24, or my Van --- THEY'RE ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! I can't go for 2 miles with out one idiot passing me on the right, or reving on me at a traffic light!!!

I was just thinking about it the other day--- and it is hilarious! I sware, Its like all the young punks in my town "KNOW" or something. Maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit, cuz I do get to have some fun once in a while, but for the most part---- it is soooo true!!!

anybody have a similar experience? (I know its gotta be all in my head--- or I'm just nuts) but I just wanna see how nuts I am... so humor me!

I actually have the oposite problem, they seem to be drawn to the little Safari Wagon. And there is no longer any shortage of imports in the Detriot area.
I actually had fun playing with a late 80's Honda Prelude last week! Big exaust pipe & bigger tach, made alot of noise but did not come out of the hole very well. He kept pulling up to my Rt side at every stop light, but he couldn't get in front of me. Lucky for me we were on a curvy section of road I think he expected to take the little Sunbird Safari in the corners, but he was very fustrated!!! It is a good thing we never had a long straight section though with the 3.73's no OD & small 22" tires I don't really have much of a top end yet. But it shure is fun to drive now though!!!!
I really like the way the little car handles with the V-8 sway bars, and I am still pleasently suprised by the quick ratio Pw steering box on both this car & the one from the parts Astre.

Haha looks can be decieving... yeah I hate late 80's Preludes w/ a passion. But hey, if you have a sleeper wagon, that was whole point in the first place right?! There drawn to you because you got the right "bait"

I personally Love the little Wagons, I always get odd looks when I pull up to the dog park and let 2 Greyhounds out of the back. I have all the parts to redo the interior, but I am afraid I won't let the dogs ride in it if I do.

Up here, if your caught street racing, they confiscate your car and crush it now. :(

Well I'm not so much an advocate of street racing, or at least how the ricers do it. I don't see anything wrong with having a little fun and getting to 45mph pretty quickly, but doing 70+ on a public street is unacceptable for me.

Besides, I don't think I'll have to do much on the street. One blip of the throttle will have the Honda boys running home!

Haha its about time I reply to my own thread! Yeah I know what ya mean on the whole street racing thing; believe me I use "caution" when I do it--- But in Idaho, there are lots of places out of town that are safe as the drag strip--- But yeah in town, its more like a spurt from 0 - 20, or 15 - 30, that I have the most fun with :)
