well to run anything faster then a 8.50 in the 1/4 you will need a 25.5 cage , and that has a funnycar cage as well so minimal chassis work is not going to happen , i,m currently building my 76 vega for a 25.5 cage and there is alot of work involved .

why wouldnt there be minimal chassis work ? its not like installing a roll cage even a funny car roll cage involves cutting the hell out of the original body

lol..yes it does.
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

how so ? iv installed roll cages before and they have never disfigured the body in any way ? you weld the bars in place and thats that there is no cutting of the body involved

actualy the only cutting of the body thats needed is thru the firewall if the holes arnt already there but even that doesnt involve anything major

and this car is gona have full interior front and back seats and everything its not gona be a gutted to hell race only car

have you worked on a h-body before ? the whole floor pan and door rockers and such are all glavanished and make it a real pain to weld to even after grinding the surface to bare metal , and becarefull doing that as well some of the sheetmetal is beercan thin , the seams are all filled with seam sealer and foam so any type of heat causes it to sweat out and contaminate the welds .

also what size tire are you planning to run ? a vega fits a 26x8.5 slick barely , a monza has a bigger wheelwell so tire size can be bigger ,

i have some images of a 25.5 vega post your e-mail address and i,l send you some images i would post them but don,t know how to load them from my harddrive

Zeke
Want to keep it stock looking and still go fast,,look at a monza body instead of a vega, you can fit bigger wheels and slicks and theres more room in the engine bay to fit your twin turbos,,I might be partial,,,,,lol
check out the photo, those are 11.5x15x26.5 mt's in stock wheel wells, check out the cars in the garage for ideas before you buy,my opinion is that the monzas are also cheaper to build,,waiting for the hate mail,,,,,,

Did not mean to offend,I was pointing out that vegas are getting very pricey and monzas are still reasonable, but thanks for the compliment on my car, people that are intimidated by it, cut it down,,,on second thought maybe I should sell my pos monza and buy a pos camaro,,

only kidding,,I like all cars, all brands, yes even ricers as they come up with some cool ideas, its people that cause problems not cars,,your forgiven and its forgotten,,,

ACTUALLY I'M QUITE FOND OF" P O S" CARS. I LIKE SLEEPERS AND LOW PROFILE QUICK RIDES. MY DEFINITION OF THESE CARS IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT. POS MEANS: pretty out of sight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S MY 2 CENTS AND OPINION. MY OTHER CAR IS A 1974 NOVA "POS" base grade 2 dr in classic Liesure World gold with black bench seat and rubber floor covering. drive train includes a 400 hp 355 sbc and built turbo 350. great sleeper that has embarrassed many newer macho cars. thats cool in my book-------------

zeek the best thing you can do is go find your dream vega as a roller thats already been caged n tied and tubbed. so in the event you ever put some rediculous turbo motor in it REALLY could get in the 8's and you could walk away from a crash. (and on a side note callin all other h bodies "pos" on this forum is in bad taste ) dont shit where you sleep dude

zeek,
You may not carry the zest for the Monza that many of us do but we don't allow anyone here to talk down someone else's car. 2lucke4u's car is very fast and well put-together.

I haven't had to censor anyone on here yet and I hope I never do.

This is coming from upstairs.
