After 2 years of work I think Im ready to go to the track this week!

I suspect the motor will be about 450-500 h.p. at the crank.
No spray this time
Any ideas on 1/8 mile times? This will be the first time out with this car, really just a test and tune session this time so any advise anyone has will be appreciated! a Thanks
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.
6.90-7.0 at 98 to 100 mph. Its a 406, 12.5 to 1,afr heads, 640 lift cam, turbo 350 with a 3700 stall, 3.73, 8.5" slicks with the stock configuration vega 4 link
I was thinking mid 6's. I have a 75 camaro with a bone stock 350 that has a .480 lift cam, 670 holley,100 shot, 3:73 gears and a complete interior that runs 8.70's all day. I figure the motor in the wagon is twice the motor as the one in the camaro and 800 to 1000 pounds lighter. But you never know!!!
Forget the HP...where is your torque?
You need serious low RPM torque for a 2000 RPM converter to get your rear OFF the line and a good 60'. Consider a 3000-3500RPM QUALITY converter unless you're over 350lbs at launching RPMs.
Torque GETS you moving, HP KEEPS you moving.
I would agree with a high 7sec 1/8th mile guesstimate.
I havent had it on a dyno yet but the guys that put the motor together are in Dallas and build alot of these motors said that 500 h.p and 480 ft.lbs is not out of the question. I went with the 2000 stall because of the low end torque of this motor. I know when I put a 3000 stall on my camaro it made all the difference an a basically stock motor
I beleive the motor that is in my car now is making some what around the numbers that you are saying and im still trying to work the bugs out of it. Im really curious to see what your car runs?
rustorbust, as soon as I can I will post time slips and let you guys know how it does. I took it for a little spin around the neighborhood last night just to see if I was still number one in the hood and all of my neighbors let me know that I was. You know the ol' one finger salute! Anyway It looks like you run a narrow rear tire on your car, what size are they? I know have some 26x9 hoosier slicks I plan on running at the track. The goodyear street tires I run on it daily are no match for the car, it gets sideways in 2nd at 45 mph and spins through most of 3rd. I know the slicks will help I hope !!
No idea on the weight. I would guess 2300 lbs? The local track is getting completly resurfaced and the weather keeps pushing back the opening. As soon as it opens I will post the time slips.
