I posted this in the general section to start with but thought I would move it over here to see if I can get some other responses.
So I came across a real good deal on a powerglide. The transmission has a reverse manual body, tranny brake, turbo input shaft...ect... the whole 9 yards, and I beleive a 1.82 first gear. I couldnt turn it down so I bought it and now im debating whether or not I should put it in the car. I have had intentions of putting a trans brake in the car real soon and rebuilding the transmission anyways. I guess my question is if anyone has went from a turbo 350 to a powerglide and did it pick up or slow the car down? The motor in the car now is probably making about 450 to the rear wheels and it has gone 6.66 on a 75 shot of nitrous. And its not that much of a street car anymore, im not so much worried about the street ability of it. Oh it also came with a continental 5000 stall which I think is to much for the little 8" slicks compared to the 3700 that is in the car now. Looking for opinions or input?
