I think that is good for a low 13 right off the street. With tuning and technique your looking at low 12's.

I run 13.7's at 100 mph at sea level with 2.05- 2.10 60's. This is strictly a car I race at the track but its street able. It has a very similar cam as the first engine you had with 3.5 something gears, stock converter, exhaust manifolds, 24.5 inch tall rear street slicks, stock heads, 600 cfm vac sec edelbrock, and a 2 step leaving at only 1,100 rpm, shifting at 5,100. According to a HP calculator my car has around 220 rear wheel HP. Hope this gives you an idea of what is easily capable.

The vortec with "330" horsepower should easily dip into the 12's if tuned right.

update
off to race tomorrow
fuel delivery has been sorted out and new motor installed and tuned up well .........scoop now has a cold air box installed (took me long enough to get round to making that ) ...........
starting from scratch ................going to bump the front pressures up to around 50 psi .leave the backs at 34 psi for first practice .............i hope i can cut a decent light and bring a decent time slip home !
no excuses this time !!!!!!!!! as far as i can tell the car is ready this time
new engine
new carby
new fuel lines
tank s vented to atmosphere.....should be simple .......
report back as soon as i have a timeslip !
wish me luck !

Had a lot of fun
however was VERY disappointed with the end result
btw the temp was over 30 degrees c ....and track temp at 2pm was 135 degrees F
best time was a 15 flat ...developed an electrical miss towards the end of the day under load
I did find out that my car weighs in at 1400 kg ad me at 95 kg puts the all up race weight at 1495 kg
will start to check the electrical system .leads and plugs first i guess
edit
I am just so disappointed in my timeslips ..
I based my times on an et/weight drag race simulator and removed more time
personally i was expecting mid 14,s ,motor IS still fresh and therefore a little tight ,i have not had the car on a dyno as yet and it is now clear that i really really need to do some more k,s and get it on one
as the car drops in to top gear on the track it feels flat ,the guy that did the setup on the car did not have the capabilities to re jet the secondaries so they are what the carby came with ,,and he upped the jet size in the front by 3 or 4 sizes !

this is how i predicted my times

http://www.wallaceracing.com/et-hp-mph.php

Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 3200 pounds and HP of 250 is 13.62 seconds and MPH of 98.33 MPH.

i was not sure of the weight in the beginning so it was out a touch NOW i know the weight it will be easier in the future !

I think allowing for an 80 hp drop in power through the drive train was optimistic !
even still that gives me by that calculator a mid 13 second pass !take off .5 for the heat and .5 for whatever reason you want ! it STILL should be faster than a 15 flat !
i need help from someone who knows engines ..nothing about this engine should be miss matched ................

the miss went away when i started it this morning ...........hmmm leads ,plugs or the HEI ??????

guess i will try the leads first and clean up the original HEI that came with the car instead of the one i got (chinese ) IF it is still playing up .............THEN get it on the dyno and get it tuned correctly !

I do not want an 11 second car ..dont have the $$$$$ to make it that way BUT would really like a high 13 second car minimum and i supposedly have everything in the car that will make it do that !

Made a few changes to the car and actually had it tuned on a dyno
dyno guy tells me the carby is to small and when i change that it should pick up an extra 20RWHP
i am now at 230 HP
changes were
leads
MSD hei
headers (sandersons)
exhaust system (2 1/2 primaries in to a 3 inch system that goes out the back ......drones a bit though !
