Fasterthansome what do you think my little Vega will run: 406cisbc, Drt 215 64cc port and polished, 688 solid 106LSA roller,780holley by wilson carbs,350th 10inch blt together converter, 10bolt 8.5 rearend 4.11 gears, stock susp. adjustable upper and lower control arms, super victor intake.13/4 hooker headers, 250 shot nos, 26-8.5-15 on 7 inch rims do you think it will hook? I also have roll cage and sub frame connectors, will be foot braking car. convertor should be 4000 stall. Would like anyone to chime in Also have an Anti-roll on this setup.Compression is 11to1. Thanks in advance

Sounds like a stout combo,,I don't think ypu will hook it up with that small tire and big gear,,your trap speed will show your et potential, you may run something like a 11.00 @128mph,with traction would equate to about a 10.20,traction limited cars always run lopsided,I've run 12.0 @118 with street tires, same setup, same car but with slicks it ran 11.20 at the same trap speed, keep us posted,,good luck,,

4.11 so its an 1/8 mile car? 250 shot, are you trying to leave on the 250? Which 26x8.5? The new hoosier outlaw 8.5?

Faterthansome and 2Lucke I spoke with reps from Hoosier about the Outlaw Class tire that they are manufacturing for the new class and they informed me not to even think about that tire unless I had about 1000 horse becaause of the stiff sidewall. Yes I wanted to leave on that much shot , no less thatn 200 being that Rustor is using 150! M/Ts' are inthe works. I also considered 8 inch rims 28-10-15tire and roll my fenderwells. Yes I am going to be running 1/8th mile and some 1/4 mile racing, was trying to gear it accordingly. Another question I have is about the 106LSA on the Cam, would that be optimal with this combo with nos? If you guys have a chance go to youtube, under Compton Street Racing and take a look at Donnies' Vega, under Donnie Vega Story, or go directly to Donnie Lil Red Vega he is running pretty much the same set up. The only difference is he has 13-1 compression and he is running 28-10-15 Mts'. I am just trying to get this little thing to hook on those smaller tires to make it look like a sleeper, also Donnie is in the 5s'. Chime back, all you guys help is greatly appreciated. What gear do you guys suggest or when to bring the NOS in. Thanks in advance Earl

If you could run a 26 on a 10 inch rim that would help. I dont understand Hoosier saying unless you have 1000 horse dont even try the tire. The compound is softer and a 26" tire plays havoc on the sidewall, the stiff sidewall helps.
If I run 12lbs or less on a 26 with an 8" rim, the rim looks to be hitting the track on slow mo video. 15+lbs helped. Everything we have put a stiff sidewall on has improved in the 60.
I was leaving on motor then hitting a button as soon as the car was out and moving and it worked good.
I would go with a 110 instead of the 106. The 4.10 is a bit much for the 1/4 unless your spinning it WAY up there.

donny,s lilredvega ran in the 8,s on the 1/4 that car was very quick for what it was , do you own the car now ? or building a similar combo ? as for nitrous and the lobecl , guys ran fast for many yrs using whatever cam they had prior to the word nitrous cam becoming a way to sell more cams LOL . i have 2 cams for my 406 both where custom ground thru AFR for nitrous use and both are in the 104 106 range , these where done in the early 90,s , the motor close to your combo with more carb( 850 BG ) it ran 11.20/11.30,s in a 3600lbs car with 4.88,s and a 29" tire on the bottle it ran a best of 10.01 at 139mph thru tailpipes car ran a 1.89 1st gear in a glide with a brake and a 5500 stall . i,m sure with proper gearing so the motor wasn,t running out of rpm thru the topend the car would have run well into the 9,s with the mph it ran

No Demon precision I do not own the little red Vega but it is for sale and if need be I can get you connected. I always speak to Donnie about my Combo and that is the same setup that I am running except he has 13-5-1 comp and AFR heads, I was just chiming in with the guys but I would be pretty let down if it doesnt' get into the 9s' with ease maybe high 9's. I spoke with Mr. John at Bullet Cams and he speced the cam for me and assured me that the cam would be fine and would run with the 200 shot, also spoke with Donnie and all was good. This little vega should run, Donnie had no subframe conn or roll cage , just boxed upper and lowers and 28-10-15 tires on an 8 inch rim, with a 150 shot, and was running high 8s', and that is real fast. Keep chiming in guys!

I am not saying a 106 lsa will not work with spray. With a 200 shot it wont make much difference.

Fasterthansome with a LSA of 110 on a 406, the car will be a slug, no low end torque you will only make the numbers on the other end with NOS of course, but this motor will be able to roll with or without NOS, as spoken upon earlier just want to be able to sneak upon a couple non believers out here. I have a couple of friends running the 110LSA and their cars will not run without the gas! Take car guys!

Capelo, PM me about the Vega and I will put you in touch with Donnie, leave me some contact information. Did you take a look at it on You-Tube? Very simple car that is extremely fast, 5s' in the eight. Very reasonable also. Later Earl
