Well put. Nobody wants to waste money and there is nothing wrong with being thrifty, just don't do it where strength and relaibilty & safety is in question.

Good welds might be an important factor, too. Both in the rod ends and on their mounting/attachment points.

Like Bob said , Chrome on top , Mild on bottom . They make a washer to slide over the bolt on both sides to keep the dirt out , I've never used them but will try them on my 73 .

Just my .02.

use the large 3/4 thread heims with a 5/8" hole...these have the most static pull rating of all.

Also if youre looking for a good price...check these guys out...theyre about 4 blocks away from my house and have excellent products with fine craftsmanship.
Half the price of jegs or summit and a good ole local boys. All their work is done in house on a CNC lathe. Ive used their products for everything on my car.

Theyve got DOM tubing, Rod ends, steering shaft supports, and can make alot of stuff.
