first race since my accident

Postby chevy art » Tue Jun 01, 2010 7:14 pm

finally got out sunday to the hemmings musclepoolaza at lebanon speedway near albany ny my 67 nova ran like a clock. went 11.36 and 11.37 in time trials and first round in race i dailed a 11.30 and went 11.31 and cut an .046 light and beat the other guy a little at the tree and a little on the dial. next pass an hour later it cooled down alot(after sundown) and the 15 strong headwind disappeared. i should have dialed a little lower, but didnt and ran 11.28 on the 11.30 dial didnt matteri i red lighted by .022ths of a second, so i lost. the other guy ran out more than me. i would have won even with my run out, but rerdlight put me out. real bad traction there that day and strong headwind. car usually goes 11.00s there and 1095 in southern jersey. going back this week for another race. oh yeah, i am buying new slicks. they are exactly 15 years old. still look like new(65 passses on them in 15 years) and still hook almost as good as when new. expect the car to go 1080s with new threads and new carb, maybe 1070s and then the new suspension and a new 625 horse sbc is going in. i will be seeing low 10s in ther near future. wish me luck.. i was scared to death at the first race because i have a hard time getting into the car and my left foot is still partially paralyzed. hope to get the v ega out to the track in the future also art

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
