What Make Line Lock Is This?

Postby RONS PROVEGA » Thu Nov 18, 2010 7:48 pm

Of all the line locks I've seen, I've never seen one like this!....It's sort of flat and square looking.....It's not hooked up electrically however....Anyone ever seen one like this?

Is it just the box? Or is there something going down from it....kinda grey/silver...I've seen some like that but not just a plain box...sorry.

It's just that small black boxy looking thing with a through bolt at each corner securing it to the firewall and with 2 electrical wires coming out of it!....I figure it must be some sort of line lock as it's hooked up to the front brakes but it's just that I ain't never seen anything like that before! :bang:

Looks like a TCI line lock to me. I've used them before.

That was my first thot, but if it's just the box maybe it's something else? Low pressure light??? Or even fluid temp sending unit??? Maybe just hook it up and try it....that's what I'd do...but I'm kinda nutz...

I believe you may be correct as line locks typically look like a round cylinder looking solenoid, this does not!....But why would it only be hooked up to the front brakes if it were some sort of brake warning switch?....This car has been totally rewired with an aftermarket Painless wiring kit, the one with those tiny mini micro fuses, and doesn't have any sort of brake warning switch unless that's it??....What does the original brake warning switch look like and where would it be mounted originally on the car?

Maybe a switch activated by pressure for brake lights, instead of the one mounted on the pedal?

I did a kittle more research...it might be a type of line lock...but it's supposed to be a park brake lock that some 4x4 guys use...looks just like it but the ones I found had a knob (yes I said knob) on top...so maybe it's the electric version... :bang:

Yes, I seen those mechanical parking brake locks and they almost appear to look like the one I got....But, why can't I locate the electrical knobless version, like I have....I guess the best thing to do, when I install my new Corvette master cylinder next spring, is wire that sucker up and give it a try! :th:
