Postby Dreamweaver vega » Tue Jan 25, 2011 12:36 pm

Well the Vega is finally getting close to make some track time again. I got the new shocks hung with all the brackets. Weld the front rack back in with out all the bump steer. welded the new radiator in place. This week its time to order all the little small stuff

W--H--O--A !!!!!!! :th:
said that when I saw your picture "the stance came out pretty good". Awesome
car ....... post some et's... pics... video-link.... if you get a chance.

Question for you -- and other H-guys --looking to do something similar to your Vega.
I'm leaning toward street/strip, 71-73 Vega/GT, fiberglass tilt-front, make [assemble and mig weld] or buy complete rear and front subframes (and tie together with 2x3 rectangular or sub-frame connectors etc), 383-stroker (~9:0 to 1 comp [may later ad a blower -- then will keep it mainly Street and Shows]), nitrous 250-500 shot, built powerglide/kilgoretrans.com ... lightweight turbo 400... bulletproof...., narrowed dana 60 or 12-bolt...4:11...4:56...5:13?, stock glass, bye rear seats & hello tubs, roll-cage/tubeframe, keep front seats and dash and door panels --- goal is to get into the ...9's... then retire it and keep it Street/Show). Any ideas about engine/tranny/rear end combo that would get me into the 9's ?-?-?-?

Thank you

you probably will need the blower on that motor to get into the nines. still might not happen. you will see the 10s. if you want to go into the 9s the chassis will need to be certified and there are alot of specs you will need to follow for that. get some good brakes on there also art

I will have the wring finished on the car tonight. Then its just brakes, tires alingement and scaling to do this week for next weekends race. We will trying to run the 5.0 index class next weekend. I have no real ideal on what the car will run out of the box, but I'm really hoping for for some high 4.90's. We will just have to see I post up links to next weekends race the following week. You can also check the the sns website to see all the latest videos and pictures from each of our races. Or you can check my personal website Donalson racing for some old pictures and videos

I will try to run some of the texas prostock/ pro class races this year. As long as it will go a high 80 or low 90

Well we got the car out last night for some fun. It was a small race and decided to let it go in the 5.0 index class. Our first hit was soft seeing if everything still worked. Our second one was a little harder but we had fuel presure problems. So our first full pass was round one of the comp. We still have alot left in the car but something was leaking oil pretty bad on the last pass so we called it a night. I was happy with the first full pass here's a low quality video a buddy shot of it
