oil pan pick up.

The Milodin pan says it's 7.75 deep but the stock G.M. is 7.50 deep. Do I really need to change pick up tubes. We're only talking about a quarter of an inch here guys. Everyone says to use the milodin pick up if I'm gonna use that pan. A quarter of an inch sounds like it's possible.

i use the complete milodon setup that extra 1/4 inch could be the difference between life and death. also the miledon pickup bolts on to the housing. i think you still have to weld the stock chevy pickup on just for safetys sake miledon part, its a no brainer art

What Art said, oem chev pickup tubes have been known to fall off.
Pickup bolted to pump is very good insurance.

I have a Milodon pan and changed from a high volume oil pump to a (shorter) standard pump with a high pressure spring. I didn't give a thought to changing the pickup. I ended up kicking 3 rods out of my good 383 autocrossing. Broke the cam, crank, block and ripped through the said Milodon pan.

Change the pickup!
