First test run of the LS Vega version 2.0

Postby RockDaddy » Tue Oct 25, 2011 8:13 am

Rushed the last end of last week and fought a bunch of bugs on Sunday but I finally got my first pass on the new LS motor.

Dead batteries, over fueling so bad my exhaust looked like a spray bottle and plenty of other things. Missed the first 2 test and tune calls, got the car to idle OK and decided to try it out.

No foot brake or T brake. Just hit the gas and planned to shut it down around the 1/8 but it didn’t feel too bad so I just short shifted and stayed in it.

It didn't really feel that great and I thought it was a mid 9 or so but I picked up the ticket and it ran a 8.77@155.04

Not too shabby but I think it has a lot more in it. That was the only run we made so far.

Check out that soft launch and down track exhaust haze out the sides.

you are still the big daddy on this site. car went that fast with such a mild start, the car will be a monster with a trannybrake takeoff/// just out of curiosity, what was the 60 foot time for that one run. in the video it is hard to tell just how fast your car was going, but i know it was flying and i saw the chute, so i now you were going fast. keep up the good work art

Hey Rockdaddy, where did your rear wing come from? I really like it, and I think it might help my car to have a similar one, although it's not nearly as quick/fast as yours. :th: :th:

I think it 60's 1.29 My best 60 last year was a 1.25 so I'm curious to what I can get out of this new setup. I'm at the Summit Halloween Classic now and have runs tomorrow and Saturday. It's only 1/8 mile here but I'm gonna work on the launches a bit.

I actually don't know. It was on the car when I bought it a couple years ago. I plan on getting a different one on this year though.

When I take it off you can just have it and see what you can do with it.

Vega made it's second run yesterday. 1/8 mile at Norwalk. Pretty good improvement too.

5.46@126.76 That should be about an 8.50 1/4 Almost 3 tenths improvement if it worked out that way.
