probably only high 13s., low 14s. car will not do well only going up to 5200 rpms and with a glide and 373 gears, it will fall down on shift from low to high. probably dont need a carb that size. bet a
600 cfm carb is all you need to make power.too much cfms and you loose power. do the math for the carb size. cu. in. x rpms divided by 3456 ( this is a real good base formula to find carb size) 355 x 5200 divided by 3456 = about 535 cfms. and this formula is for a near 100% efficient race engine. less efficient and use a slightly smaller carb.. you didnt say what the compression is. if its low, you would probasbly be better off with just a regular performer maniflod, as they make best power for an engine like this up to max of about 5500 rpms. good luck art

Hey, how bout starting an H-body "Pass Time". I love to watch that show. Sometimes I'm pretty close, other times not so good. Always fun to watch, though. Saw the 100th episode the other nite. They had Rich Christianson do an arm drop on a couple of wild bikes. Saw the Wooly Mammoth on there a couple years ago.

Sooo....What does the winner get? Just braggin rights for 15 minutes of fame? Yeah, that would be fine. Got lots of racers here. Could be a neat idea.

Ummm...let's see.....13.56 ........ Locked in!

Best of luck to ya.

cheers, jer

You provided all the info on the drivetrain, but traction and rear suspension are the biggest variables; if it hooks, I'd guess low to mid 13's. But being a Vega, I doubt it will; high 13's is more likely. The stock rear suspension usually suffers from wheel hop and poor weight transfer; I predict lots of wheelspin. Some of solutions are descent shocks, aftermarket LCA's, adjustable torque arm mount, air bag(s) in the rear coils, remove the front sway bar(my 77 wagon doesn't have one).

Hauled her out to topeka this weekend and was very happy with how it ran. The spongy 4 cyl front springs seems to help it transfer weight. It squatted a little and hooked. I didnt have any tire spin with the hoosier drag radials. Fastest pass I made was saturday night was a 12.72 @ 104mph. Shifting at 5700 and going through the traps at 5800rpm
