Show us your best pass of the season

Postby spencerforhire » Thu Nov 29, 2012 9:32 am

I know the year's not over for everybody, but I think it's time to dig out the time slips and post the best pass of the season. I know my Vega is far from the quickest on this forum, but other than RockDaddy and 383Vega, I don't see any better numbers.
The time slip I'm posting(my car is #2261) has my best 60ft, 1/8 ET & MPH and best 1/4 ET. I have had runs with higher MPH numbers(138.88 & 138.80), but usually on passes where the car spun and shifted early.
Let the bragging begin; I will accept no "I lost the slip" or "I don't know how to post pics" excuses.

Now that's a package! How far off was the guy in the other lane; wait, it doesn't matter! Pretty hard to beat that. I think the best I've ever had was in the .08 range. I'm kind of new to this; until this season I hadn't been for a pass for 20+ years, and that was in a 14 sec. street car.
Again, I am impressed.

I could tell by the good MPH that you weren't playing any games at the stripe. My car usually goes in the mid 6.20's at the 660ft mark, but only at 110. What's in your car for motor/trans/gears? Our "black suede" Vegas look quite similar.

spence i still cant believe you car goes that fast with your current engine. if i remember right, it was not a radical engine and it still had the flat tappet , solid cam and a rather mild compression ratio. when you upgrade that engine it will really perk up your car. you had better get some new diapers for next year. good luck art

Yes Art, my motor is pretty mild; probably be a blast in a street car. The power/speed calculators estimate around 450hp at the wheels; i doubt if it's much more than 520 @ the crank. Next year- 600hp. Should be fun.

Probably pull it apart in January; first race isn't until late May. This time I'm definitely going to run it on the chassis dyno.

And exactly why don't you post your timeslips? I know your car is pretty quick, just don't remember the exact numbers.

The car has been a grudge car for a while so preferably no times. Way back when I started with the fastest or quickest stock suspension sig, I ran 9.20's and that was enough to claim the sig. That was done with factory LCA's and factory to

I'm not wanting to come across as being difficult, but in my first post I stated that I didn't want to hear excuses; I just want to see time slips. If you ran a 9.20 this season LET'S SEE IT.

I watched the whole video. Twice. No doubt you Monza is real quick, especially for a small tire, stock suspension car. BUT I never did see a number on the scoreboard for your car other than the 8.50 dial-in. You obviously can run the number, but that's not the point here; all I wanted was to see was the time slips from everyone's best pass of the season.
I wasn't trying to start a pi$$ing contest- if you don't want to show us a time slip because it's a secret, why did you even make a post?
