Wow! Your car is flying RockDaddy! I have HP envy. You're running about a half second faster than me in the 1/8th mile. Nice pass. How does it handle over 160 MPH? The guy I bought my Vega from told me the rear end felt real light over 140 MPH in the 1/4 mile. I have only raced it in the 1/8th mile. I installed a rear Pro Stock style spoiler in case I do go to the 1/4 mile with it. Do you have any pucker factor when you get out of it after the finish line traps?

Here is how it was handling 4 runs before the best I posted. I almost lost it a hair over 160mph. Just a short clip of the top end as the rest of the camera work is as bad as the end here and I didn't want to put you through that. lol

When I was building my car I talked to a lot of other racers with Vega, Monza and other short wheelbase cars, and the general consensus was that these cars really need a rear wing with vertical side panels to keep them straight at speed. So I built an 18"x48" rear spoiler and mounted it flat horizontal. My Vega is quite stable at 138+mph; I guess it works!

Hi,
The most important part is the vertical triangular pieces on the back. you only need the table for it's down force. i had an s-10 pick-up with a cap on it . used to wobble down the road, especially in a crosswind, but once i put the wing on it , it straightened right out.

Mine is ok at 165. I considered going to Ohio mile but not sure at what mph its going to become DANGER and not as fearless as I used to be.

Yikes RockDaddy! I guess that answers my question alright. I was just curious if the spoilers really do help on these cars. I guess so! I never had any issue with mine, but I was very suspicious of that type of incident so I put a similar spoiler as Spencerforhire except that the sides of mine are only 3" high or so. It is very stable at 116 MPH when I cross the 1/8th mile stripe, and I have no doubt it would be stable at 140+ in the 1/4 mile too. I only run 1/8th mile at this time. Glad you saved it. lol

When you go through each frame of rockdaddys video you can see how far off the pavement his tires are , I would be wearing depends every run after that one , just to help with the cleanup . I guess the chute helped straighten it out ? I don't remember if you pulled the chute on other runs or the videos don't show it , probably a pain to repack . I like to watch your vidios keep them coming
