Last Saturday night our local track had it's awards banquet for the 2013 race season. I'm proud to represent the H-body community with my very first championship. I finished the year with 7110 points, (71 round wins, 10 race wins) and 2000 points ahead of the second place guy. The car was flawless all year. I'm 58 years old, and have been racing off and on since high school, and this, by far, was one of the biggest events of my life. Without my wife's support, this never would have happened. I surrounded myself with a great group of people, (The Campfire Gang) and had a season one can only dream about. Plans for next year are still up in the air, but nothing can take away the fact that for once in my life, after 42 years of trying, I got a championship, and I did it in a Vega. I am very humbled, and thankful for everyone's support.
