I have a 77 Monza, and was wondering if the unibody frame is exactly the same as a 71 Vega??

The later Vegas and all Monzas have a larger trans tunnel to accommodate the torque arm, plus the panhard bar mount in the rear. The lower control arms are however the same whether the car is 3-link or 4. The front section of the unibody would be the same.

I do recall when the Monza was being introduced that they made mention of some additional strengthening to accommodate the V8. There was reference to some additional sheetmetal patches to help make the unibody a little stronger. I can't say exactly what or where these were but there may be some slight differences.
