What tp take a trip down Summit Motor Sports track? 10.70 ET

Postby monzaz » Sun Sep 11, 2016 11:21 pm

Here is me having fun with my daughters Go Pro from her JR Dragster ...lol. I wanted to play too.

Actual for once I got a decent reaction time.... check the score board... :)

Remember I am a footer and shifter...which will change this winter to what everyone else has , Trans-brake, and solenoid controlled shifter .... I just have to even the playing field with the rest of the Pro racers.

:) Not here to fool any one...lol. Just my race car. This car really does not hit the street. BUT does have all the lights etc that can.... BUT wanted to give an idea that tire size and slicks can make the car do numbers that are pretty unbelievable.
The car is ladder bar suspension, 10 bolt 8.5 just like the s-10 2wd under 1995-2004 GM used in the 4.3 5 speed manual trans trucks.

:th: That was AWESOME, Jim. Felt like I was in the car, only about 3 seconds faster than I've ever gone. WOW! Can't wait 'til October when I get to the track.

Which track? Have you looked at my daughters doing the Jr Dragsters? 7.90 and 8.90 If you catch Jesse Fire Mitschke cockpit run you can see how there heads snap back...It is quite a bit of torque.

jim is that rear a stock monza rear length (across493/4) backing plate to backing plate, and if so, what width slick do you have under there. looks like a nice neat fit with your tires. thanks art

Yes stock width... Wheel backspacing is 4.5" 5 lug s-10 axle set up.

Tires will be close... I had to push the front dog leg lip in a bit... as the tires would increase in size in the middle slightly scraping the tire on the first set we raced with. They make a 24.5 x 8 x 15" rim which might be better for a street car. I am doing 10.50s and 5000 stall 1.39 60 foot and still am not spinning the tires off the line. So a street car with 24.5 probably will be fine to low 11 sec too.

Cordova, Il., the nearest 1/4 mile track to me (about 100 miles). Just hope I can hook up with the open carrier. It's pretty sad on the street.

I assume there are youtube videos.? I'll have to look them up. Those are impressive times for Jr. dragsters! Would embarrass me at the track. lol.

Those Jr cars are NO JOKE That time 7.72 if capable of going the 1/4 mile at that rate would be 12.10 ET...lol.

So Yes they will make all street cars look pretty silly in a 1/8 mile race.

Jim

We can make that open into a posi pretty easy.

What ratio does it have?

With what started life as a "lawnmower engine" My cart engine must be around 12HP, about 1/4 of the top dog Jr. Dragsters [50HP back in the early '90's] I have 190# of compression and you can pick the cart up by the starter rope! These Briggs engines can cost as much as a SBC to build! The money I spent on that would have paid for some real nice rods and the pistons for the Monza. :bang: Thanx for sharing Jim. Harry
