small tires

I'm building my monza right now with an eye toward pro touring but I may veer to drag racing. How well will a smaller tire (say 7.5-8"wide) do on these with a lowish hp (300-400hp) 350/th350 combo? I'm planning to keep the 2.73:1 gears for now but down the road I'm looking at steeper gearing. and im looking at the powertrax locker or some variant there of for the diff since its currently an open diff. I really don't want to modify the body if I can help it.

Should be fine at that power level; Waybad went into the 11's at the holley LS Fest.-

you will be fine with some drag radials at that hp like Spencer said,, I'm running 3.08 in my rear with a 3500 stall and it flat hooks with 24 lbs of air pressure,, get some good rear shocks
and you will be good!! I run Viking double adj and they are great! you will have plenty of settings for road courses and drag racing with those!
