sounds like a good day looking foward to seeing what a 150 shot will do for you I wouldnt hit with any more at first that should drop you to around 10.5o seconds and you know what they say the starts coming apart at 10 seconds

Charles, have you checked the fuel bowl float levels or the needle and seats for trash? Also, be sure you have the miss fixed before you hit the nitrous! If the engine misses on the gas it will DESTROY your motor instantly!! Roy

Charles, also check the needle and seat sizes. Should be .110" size front and back. Roy

Charles , first off ....good deal at making it to the track , except for the breaking up @ 6 k ....it sounds like you had a good time :D

As far as the breaking up part: I know this will sound real obvious , but since it hasn't been mentioned on either board i thought I would bring it up. You said you changed over virtually everything in the ignition , but what about the plugs? I have experienced the same symptoms you are describing "breaking up at 6 k" on 2 separate occasions , in both instances the problem was plugs that were fouling because they were too cold .

The first time was almost 2O years ago and was a direct result of a cam change , the car ran great for a few weeks , but then it stopped revving under load past 6 K. Checked the plugs , dirty , installed new ones next temperature range (hotter) and the car revved all day long !

The second time was just a month or so ago , on my Mirage . Similar symptom.... but i haven't done any engine work to it yet , i replaced the fouled plugs and it revs like a champ.

Again , i am not saying i know what the problem is , just sharing some personal experiences I have had that sound similar. Either way i hope you get it sorted out ....and like Roy said definitely get it sorted out before hitting it with nitrous!

Glad to hear you had a good time and got some good numbers out of the car.

As for the breaking up all the suggestions are possibilites along with checking the chip for your rev limiter if you use one. I've seen this at least 4 times this year alone. Just take it out and see if it will go past 6000.
The plugs I use are NGK #6 and for a big shot of juice I have #8's.

also a good idea to check the gap on those plugs. some ignitions require a lot bigger gap to take advantage of the high out put spark.
