Had a great holiday

Postby craggar » Wed Aug 16, 2006 11:16 am

Just got back from my racing holiday and we had a blast. Fisrt track we went to I won King of the Hill and a $1,080., next day wasn't as good but still had fun.
We left there and did some touring around in the mountains then headed for the next track where two other buddies met up with us. All four of us left there with money and I got my new best time with the 69, 9.67@137. I had the 150 shot in it and only left the line with 20% and the rest in 1.5 seconds later short shifting. I'm sure there is a very low 9 in the car if I hit it hard right out of the hole.

Talk about a holiday,,,AWSOME,,I've seen pictures of both of your cars,,top notch all the way,,you give us beginners something to aspire to,,I'll keep you posted on our monza project ,,I have yet to hit the juice on it,,I need to address the new motor gliches and get it running at peak on motor before the juice,,we are guessing the car should finish out in the low 11,s off the bottle and upper 9's on a 200 shot,,I'm guessing my starting jets 75 gas/ 73 nos should be good for 200hp,,am I close??I'm looking to pull out 4 degrees with the box and use the rpm in and out to activate the nos,,4300 stall converter,,5000 nos on/7000 nos off,,that should get me off the line,,she carried the wheels 6 inches up on launches last time out so traction was ok,,my 60ft times say I'm still spinning a little,,we are hoping to get those down to the 1.5 range next time out,,as we dropped the lca's 2 5/8 and changed the rear to a 4.11,,is this fun or what???I'll keep you posted,,any suggestions just feel free to voice them,,,

Tks Charles,
Without knowing what NOS system I couldn't tell you if you're close or not on the jets. Some kits like BG use the same for both fuel and Nos, others like my NX fogger use bigger Nos jets then fuel but if you have a Nos system I would say that sounds about right.
If I were you I would start with the 100 or 125 shot after you get the miss sorted of course and I would take at least 4 degrees out for that shot. I always like to sneak up on things. On my Vega I started out with 10 degrees retard and ended up at 6 for a 125 shot.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Tks Dave, we've done this holiday for the past three years and love it. Don't know about catching you but I think I should end up around 9.2's if all goes well. Not too shabby for a street car with ET Streets through mufflers. :)

thats impressive for street trim a little more you could run some easy street meets think they are running in high 8's and low 9's

were looking for some high 7's this fall out of the vega keeping my fingers crossed that its closer to a 7.50 to be compepitive in texas pro stock class

Wow, 7's will be flying in that thing. I see why you're doing all the chassis work which is looking good.

BTW Big Congrats on getting married.
