Charles,

The weather looks passable, so my brother and I are still going to Byron on Saturday, the 30th. Come on by if you can.

Nothing of that sort,,just inner city kids that have no clue about guns and handling them,,we give them a quick course on the basics and shooting, half of all people killed by guns are shot with an unloaded gun,,get it,,,,,I did'nt know it was loaded,,,we teach them to treat every gun as it was ready to fire,,,this group is from Bible Baptist Church of Prarrie Du Chein,,hopefully everyone has permission to shoot or the whole thing may be cancelled,,,you do what you can,,,,,

Charles,

That's pretty cool, helping out those kids.

My brother's Monte Carlo ran a best of 11.16, not bad for the first time out. It was his first time with a trans brake, took a couple of times to get a handle on it. He still needs some more seat time before he will be ready for the brackets, but I think he did well for his first time.

The World Power Wheelstanding Championships are next Sunday at Byron! It will be the wife's first time experiencing this spectacle of wheeled mayhem!

Great Job
awsome et for first time out,,I believe in tuning to the max and that car will be in the tens no problem,,,WOW!!!!!
Hey ,,help me out on the transbrake,,never used one before and will use it on saturday whats the deal on leaving,,heres what we have, the hyfire system will stall the motor at any rpm when we push the button for the brake. the rpm is selectable,,the stall is 4400 ojn the converter,,weight is 3000lbs.some tips on leaving on the brake would be great,,what type of et reduction should i expect,,any and all chime in on this one,,
Thanks Charles

Charles,

It will take a little trial and error. If you have a dyno sheet, the idea is to leave at the torque peak. If not, try leaving at 3800 to 4000 for a start, just to see how it reacts. Watch your 60 foot times. What brand of slicks are you running?

transbrake

Postby 2lucke4u » Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:33 pm

I'm running 15 x 9 x 26 hoosiers @10.5 lbs pressure,3800 for peak torque sounds about right for a 383,Saturday is a GO!!!!!
here are the changes we made for this trip to the track,,the goal is 11:30 to 11:40's on the motor @118

from 71/80 jets to 74/82 in the 750 holley, from 8 cyl springs to 6 cyl, rubber spacers in the right rear spring, rev limiter on the transbrake,, picked up about a half inch of pedal on the throttle cable with a spacer, nos is hooked up and the bottle is full,,

Are we ready or what,,,If time permits we will start marching up on the nos jets,,starting out with 50hp and will go up 25hp at a time untill we hit 150hp jets which are about 63/66 on my system,,

Is hoping for 9.80's or better too much with the 150hp jets???what do you think

Charles,

Sounds good to go! I like the bite of the Hoosiers. Hopefully, you have that spin problem solved. That 150-shot should get you easily into the low-10s, maybe the high-9s if the traction and air is there. Just remember, you need a certified chassis and license below 10.00.
