hey Guys
Lets all get involved,,its interesting to see what other combos do in the h-body chasis ,,I.E. V-6 5speed,V-8 5 speed, cars set up for corners, how do they perform on the strip,is there a happy medium between street and strip?? the new transplants are awsome ,,ls1,ls2 and such ,,how do they perform at the strip and on the street?? what can they pull for G's
my next combo will be a street ls2 and a four speed auto in a coupe, set up for corners in addition to the strip,,the search will be on for a body this spring,, as our strip /street car in nearing completion,,,we must move on,,,,,

When I had the 383 in the Vega, it would run 12.80s at 108 on the street tires through the mufflers, a 12.63 best on a cool November day. It ran a best of 1:34 at Blackhawk Farms Raceway 1.99 mile road course.

After I kicked 3 rods out of the 383, I put in a 355 with the Sportsman heads out of the 383 and a similar cam. It's run a best of 13.16 at 102.

I run a 350 crate motor, with a 350 automatic tranny(3000 stall convertor). 12.53 on the motor and 11.63 on a small sniff of nitrous.

Mild 350 with a th350 and 3.73 gears best of 14.04 at 97.74. Add a little nitrous it's gone 13.08 at 107.65. All done at 5800 feet above sea level maybe someday I can bring it to a lower altitude and run in the low 12's high 11's
And I thought 2 litres was a bottle of soda pop !! It ain't cheating it's creative use of the rules.

I don't have any quarter mile times for my LS1 swap yet but I ran a best 0-60 0n my G-tech of 4.7 with no traction at all. This is a stock 1998 LS1 that has a LS1Edit tune, Turbo 350 with 3000 stall and 3.73 posi. The tires were 245/50-15's but I have drag radials now (235/60-15's) and as soon as I finish up a few things and the weather cooperates, I'll give you some solid times.

355 in mine runs 10.7's on motor and 9.8's with a 125 shot. Now it has the same motor but instead of the juice it's twin turbos and C16. Just fired it up yesturday and will be off to the dyno in a couple of weeks.

It should be interesting Dave, the turbos are just little guys but I'm not looking for a lot of power. I'd be real happy with around 750hp at the wheels.
I'm putting a 9/1 short block together that will end up in the car before it goes to the track because I cringe at the cost when I pick up the C16. :( It should still be able to hit the goal I'm looking for with that combo. Right now my stupid camera and pc aren't on speaking terms so I can't upload any pictures of it all together. When I do I will post them.

I hear you on your project, I've been following all along and you're in deep.

I'm running a 353" standard SBC with two relatively small turbos. It's been great so far. . .5.85@122 in the 1/8th on an easy tune with a PowerGlide and 3.25 gears. One of these days I'll see what she can do in the full 1/4.
