You could use the Citation or S10 2.5 complete TBI setup if needed. Check the back of the motor though, they changed the transmisson configueration in the 80's and the Chevy trans - bellhousings bolt pattern wont always fit. You can use the 79-83 H-body, AMC Jeep- Eagle- Spirit Pontiac 151 crossflow head and or manifolds ( Carb ).The 79 and 80 head has an adjustable rocker arm setup. Doug in Az 8)

if it is is a true 151 there are lots of optoins out there for you. the first thing I would do is verify the ci, casing numbers and the year it was made. then spend a saturday at the salvage yards looking for/at the cars made with the same engine. if it has the head on it, which you seem to express, that will effect what intake exhaust you can use on it. the best head is the cross flow with the intake on one side and the exhaust on the other. Since you are using the four banger, you must be chasing fuel economy. There are lots of sequential fi systems you can use. They deliver lots more mpg and power than anything else, but they are more complicated than the ol carb. I had a 151 in my 76 vega wagon with a 5 spd and 1 b carb with intake over exhaust and got 400 miles to a tank of gas. they also used these engines in fork lifts and mercruser boats so dont forget to look for stuff on these (the aluminum mercruser valve cover looks great on a 151).

Sorry Dave, I think Rick gave up on the idea because the motor he found wouldn't fit the Chevy or BOP trans without a special adapter. ( Later style 2.5) Doug in Az 8)

I know the later FWD style blocks have the small bellhousing pattern, but could the Camaro/S10 EFI with or without the later head be used on the older block? Sounds like the increase in power AND economy might make for a great daily driver.

Rick , Maybe you can get a old 82 + S10 rolling chassis with cab and make an Off Road Beater like I plan on doing with my " Puked Duke" or Craigslist it. Doug in Az 8)
