Nitrous bottle mounting in Monza hatchback?

Postby bill1978v8 » Wed Aug 01, 2007 7:26 pm

Where is the best place to mount the Nitrous bottle. The car is a 78 Monza Hatchback. Should I but it off to one side or right in the middle? Just asking to see what some of you have done?

Thanks,

Thanks! I was reading thru the directions and it said to keep away from windows to prevent heat spike and to use a blowdown tube so I'll have to look under the car to see where I can run the tube thru. I know I'll be addicted, I told myself I'm just going to use the 75 hp jets but i know better!!

Thanks,

you could mount it on the hump between the back seats like i did my fire extinuishing system bottle. the added plus would be the look of fear for your rear seat passengers having that bomb in a beer can next to there legs................

That's just so no one smashes your window in an attempt to steal your bottle. I once heard of a guy that stole drums off a car for his monza and put the wheels back on the car. ok, I'm just having fun now. Actually I'm wondering why someone hasn't come up with a good answer yet. One side or the other might be better for weight transfer, or just say f*ck it and put one on each side. even if one is a spare.

After switching to 15's I couldn't carry a spare, so said WTF and welded the brackets right in the middle. For the most part the hatch shades the bottle from the sun.
