Fuel pump location

Postby Bowtie_Stoffe » Thu Jul 31, 2008 2:06 pm

Hi guys!

I would like to know where the stock fuel pump is located on my -75 Monza (came with a 4 cyl engine from factory)...

The reason I´m asking is that I suspect it´s crappy and I´m about to order a electric fuel pump to replace it.

Is it a electric or mechanical fuel pump in a stock monza?

Regards!

The stock 4 cylinder should have a mechanical pump. Is the stock 4 cylinder in the car now?

Ok.

Oh no, the stock 4 banger left the engine bay long ago. Now there is a Chevy 283 Cui bored and stroked to 302 cui with a few goodies... :)

What is necessary to do when I upgrade to a electric fuel pump. Where is it best mounted, and what to do with the stock mechanical one? Where is it located?

It's hard to say what was used for a fuel pump when the engine was swapped. Follow the fuel lines and you'll find it. If you can't find it then it's probably in the tank.

'75 Monzas came with the electric fuel pump in the tank. The Vega engine has no provision for a mechanical fuel pump.
