Notice the flowers on the dog wood trees? Put this engine in about a week ago. Finally warming up.

in my experience, the rpm airgap is great.especially in heavier cars over 3600lbs- but, i also like the torker2--ive run em on everything from a 469 pontiac in a 66 gto ( 11.97@128 all motor , it was my only car i drove it every day. 2800 stall and 3:90 gears. 275/60/15 bfg radial t/a's. 3640lbs. ) to a 331 ( 327 + .030 ) in a 72 vega ( 12.33@117 all motor no nitro ! 3000 stall and 3:89 gears in a 9" ford. ) and i LOVE the torker2. the old 'tarantula' for bbc was a winner too. and dont get me started on the truly nutty stuff like crossrams and such......just crazy ! i love em tho...just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.... :th:

if you engine is any hi-po sbc and is 327 up to 383 and you dont go above 6500, there is no better intake available.( performer rpm air gap) . once you go around 400 cubes(sbc and go over 5500 rpms,) that is where a single plane (like edelbrock victor jr) takes over in the torque and horsepower department. this is a fact, backed up by lots of dyno reports.. if you are 5000rpms and lower with any sbc, then save your money and just get the edelbrock performer (lots for sale on e-bay, real cheap) art

That's only because of the retainer to valve seal/guide clearance. If you have the guides cut down, or change retainers, Vortecs respond very well to up to about .525 lift, but work best right at .500". 8)

Ok, this is late but I'm finally putting together my 0.30 400. It has 12.5:1 Pistons & Edelbrock Aluminum Heads. I just bought the Edelbrock Air Gap 2x4 combo and the Edelbrock RPM Roller Cam. Has anyone had any experience with this intake? Looking for the good as well as the bad.

the 2-4s will probably look good on there, but i dont know anyone going fast using 2-4s. if you are on street, you probably will loose alot of low and mid range power.. that motor sounds like the perfect candidate for a single plane with a good 850 cfm carb. that will make all the power you will ever need. my new vega engine is a 408 sbc with alum heads big roller cam single pland with 850 cfm. just has 10-1 comp ratio for street and it has aprox 540 hp. good luck with that nice new ride of yours art

in my under 2600 pound car the air gap is capable of a lot more motor than yours
Air gap is the best of both worlds (street/race)

I need a set of the Cartwright headers :D

Cartwright headers??? Haven't heard of those. Did a quick search on the web. Couldn't find anything on them. Please, enlighten us.

Thanks.
