Monojet question for 72

Postby kgroombr » Thu Jul 15, 2010 8:22 pm

I recently squired another 72 Vega. Physical inspection of everything indicates that it will run with a little work. The engine has a monojet carb. In the back of the car there was a carb kit for the monojet. I am in the process of assembly and something doesn't appear right. Using the attached pic, parts number 35-38 are missing (power piston, metering rod). The carb has obviously been rebuilt, and I am thinking it is missing these parts, but I have seen variations of carbs on different vehicles.

The only carbs I've ever seen missing the power piston were around 1982 and had an electronic solenoid to activate the circuit instead of the traditional power piston assembly.

Bottom line, you need a parts carb. Power piston is an important item.

Good luck!
