Hey folks! Any one running a FAST EZ EFI system or any other self learning efi system? Lets hear your experience with install and set up. How well does it work? Thanks. AL

Al,
Are you rich? JK. That's a pretty pricey setup. Are you wanting to go EFI?

No, not rich, I hate carbs that much. I also like the benefits and features of some of the new efi systems on the market. The Holley Avenger EFI is pretty sweet with its ability to switch from street to strip tune with the push of a button. I can put a price on reliability, easy starting, improved fuel economy. I am getting a price break on this system from a local hot rod shop in return for advertising and trouble shooting. It is easier to sell the product on the car than in the box. I will let you know when this completed. Thanks. AL

I bet the software is somewhat close to my FAST XFI and XMI setupand I tell ya, I will probably not run a carb again.

Here is a setup I made for an old GM in-liner, its a similar setup using 4 injectors, i just took a piece of mandrel bend aluminum tubing (a section of a pc off ebay for $10) and used a factory northstar throttle body ($50) , and a couple pcs of 1/4 plate with a hole saw. It is in a 49 stude pick up so it had lots of hood clearance and it will be getting a turbo so I sent it over the top of the valve cover. I use an MS efi ECU i built for the brain.... This was a quick conversion, I know its kind of back woods hillbilly marginal fabrication, but it works on a budget. I only run EFI because the carburetors are so complicated and difficult to figure out, I need my laptop to tune, its amazing to me how people know how to tune a car

Well the Cadillac guy that had the F.A.S.T. EFI mentioned above, returned it for a full refund. Had troubles with it and went back to a carb. ( didn't trust it on long trips)

what did he not trust on the efi that a carb is more reliable on?

Nothing wrong with any of them if you understand it, have time to fix it and work out the bugs.
Megasquirt is simpler in my opinion ,you actually learn what its doing and can fix it at home, no odd hours tech help as you have forums to help /search 24/7, and it adapts to anything.
Buy a good Wideband O2 set up and your good to go. Get her to idle, run the numbers to keep it out of lean WOT, Tune WOT numbers in the 11.2 t o11.5 range NA and then fine tune for power from there. Oh and Ebay cheap laptops work great. I wonder since MS canhave blue tooth added if they have Iphone tuner fixed/done yet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!

Was fuel pressure/ regulator related, worked great for 2 months then quit. Gave up on it, I guess.

Hmmm...
You will notice that azbigal never responded back with his finished set up. IMHO Mega Squirt is the only way to go. Once I get the time this is the way I will go because as mentioned the support you get and because you can pretty much put it on anything you want. The point here, I would like to hear from others who have used the MS system.
