4 brl carb for a 3.8l?

Postby 78skyhawk » Wed Dec 08, 2010 8:04 pm

I am looking at getting a new intake and carb for my 78 hawk and was thinking of going to an aluminum intake with 4 brl carb. What carb would you use? Engine is completely stock right now, but may get a mild cam in the future.
The reason for a change is that the carb I have now is bad and I figure now would be the time to upgrade.

The aluminum 3.8 Buick four barrel manifolds are plentiful and cheap on Ebay. I have seen them for $30. As mentioned the 380cfm or the 500cfm work really well although the 380 gets much better gas mileage by far and they fit well with the stock cam. The Holley carbs are very reasonably priced new at around $200. Its a good combo and upgrade from the stock Dualjet.

Edit: LOL, just noticed this is an old thread. I really know nothing about the 4.1 Buick.
