Question on Holley Choke-Solenoid on 72 (74 engine?)

Postby Corellian Corvette » Mon Oct 29, 2012 5:09 pm

So my 72 apparently has a different engine, but it has a Holley 5200/Weber carburetor. Found a picture on ebay that says it's from a 75-76?

On the passenger side of the carb there is a solenoid that looks like an idle-stop solenoid and is connected to the choke. I don’t know if it extends OUT or IN when power is supplied.

Anyone know how this is connected to the car and how it’s wired? For now, my choke doesn’t close so fast-idle is a problem. I assume there is some sort of sending unit that adds/removes voltage as the car warms up?

Would love to see any diagrams or pictures of how this is connected.

(This isn't my carb, this is the pic from ebay)
