good pictures of the sending unit and fuel pump?

Postby Corellian Corvette » Tue Nov 06, 2012 11:38 pm

I can really use some help. does anyone have a good picture of what the fuel pump and sending unit look it like assembled?

The PO put a hole in the tank and plumed something out of the bottom.

ID like to put the original stuff back together, but I don't have a good image of what the sending unit and fuel pump look like together.

I can also use some images of the wiring. the new pump has a ground and power wore but i'm not sure where the connect.

on a separate topic - does anyone make replacement sending unit for these cars?

I can take some pictures of mine (77 Skyhawk). I've got some wiring info too. Do a search on this site and a lot of posts come up. A member had his sending unit repaired. I'll post pictures tomorrow evening unless somebody else does first. Brian

Thanks! I can really use a picture. I have a good handle on the wiring portion, I'm just curious what it physically looks like assembled - how does the pump, grommets, and filter all go together. I can sort of see how it works but would be great to know what it was SUPPOSED to look like :)

Hope the pics help.

Blue wire is power to the pump. Tan wire is the gauge. Ground connection is the tab on gastank pump2 pic. Right pin is the guage and the left pin is pump pwr.

Here's a couple of photos I took when I was converting my Cosworth from a separate low pressure/high pressure fuel system to a Fiero high-pressure pump. The only difference between the Cosworth sender and the Vega sender is that the Cosworth has the extra return line.

Here's the standard Vega low-pressure pump:

And the modified bracket with the Fiero pump:

If you need a replacement rheostat on the sending unit I can get those. Besides the pump itself that's part that often fails or just wears out.
