intake manifold id

Postby jim327monza » Fri Jun 20, 2014 6:02 pm

I have a gm aul intake, casting number 10185024, with what is said to be a winter foundry snowflake cast in to it. I know that this is a z-28 style intake that was sold as a service piece. my question is how to date the manifold ? Their is no "date code" that i recognize stamped or cast on it. The only marking besides the casting number is on the front bottom . It reads /312832. I have no clue! As always , any information that you cane provide is greatly appreciated!!!
Thank You Jim H.

jim date probably dont matter as it is an over the counter part, not as numbers match part. production line manifolds didnt have the bowtie cast into it. yours probably does have it. sell it if it will bring in decent money. get a edelbrock RPM air gap for yourself with the money(if you are looking for performance.) art

Art, Thanks for the reply. Yea it has the bowtie cast on it. i wanted to date it just for my own knowledge. As for selling it, they sell for $225-300 at the car show that i go to. However, I have plans to put this on top of the 327 that is going in my 76 2+2.
Thanks jim

jim that is a good plan. it will look nice and perform great. those manifolds were really improved over the earlier aluminum hi rises. they got better around 1967-68 and are great for that hi-performance hit when you feel like mashing the throttle down every so often.. try not to overcarb your engine. send some pics when you are done art
