Ok, I read every thread titled fuel pump, and I didn't see much about stock pumps.

What is the best replacement? Who has it, how much, and part #

When I replaced the pump in my 74, I picked up a walbro from advance auto. Cost around $30 if I remember right. That was a couple years ago

I have used a "Carter" and an "Airtek" and neither seemed to last very long. Put them in they work come back a few days/a week later nothing. Pull tank and pump again and "flick" the impellor and it runs, try again it runs, as many times as I try! Put same pump back in, run out of time, get back to it later, and it will not go, repeat! Now I've installed a "Delphi" and it comes out of storage soon and I can update. The pumps were covered in a white scale after dis-assembly, I am presuming from the "Alcohol Laced Gas" This time I will add some Sta-Bil for Alcohol supplemented fuels when it gets filled up. O'Reilly's had one in stock, $40. Didn't notice the mfg.

I'll let you know how it holds up. It makes 2.5 psi.

I put Walbro pumps in just about everything that gets a pump in my shop. They are a known quantity and their products have a well known reputation for living a long life. Not to mention they are rather compact as well.

2.5psi? That seems pretty low even for a stock engine.

yea, I don't know of any carb that will work properly with fuel pressure that low.
