Hi all I need a fuel tank for a 1977 Astre. Anyone know where to source or get a workable replacement- 1985-1990 jeep tanks look close? Fuel cells ? Custom? Ideas?

Thanks :th:

I don't believe new ones are available, and NOS ones really hard to find.
There are a couple used ones on car-part.com right now for a 77 astre, but it's always a guess as to whether the ad is current and they really have them.

Here are a couple related threads:

Major bummer, well thanks anyway. I have been searching and the 2 best solutions are tank seal/ rad shop or fuel cell. I have found a few other model vehicles that might work with and ideally without cutting out the spare tire well.

I ordered a 1990-1987 jeep wrangler 15 gallon tank. I will let you all know how it works out. See specs below:

Capacity: 15 Gallons/57 Liters
Dimensions: 25-1/4 X 18-1/4 X 10-7/8 inches
Large gauge hole - 3-1/8 inches inside diameter
Correct for Carbureted models only
Includes the lock ring and gasket for the sending unit

Well it's not going to work without a sledge hammer, I sent it back. Looks like a 10 gallon Jaz fuel cell then.
