Rear defogger?

Postby Hawk231 » Sun May 20, 2007 11:09 pm

I've got a 78 Monza hatchback that I'll be parting out soon. I'm trying to gauge interest in the rear hatch glass w/defogger. Anyone interested? I don't want to bother removing it if there's no interest.

Thanks,

I got a chance to clean it up and take a better look at it tonight. The switch is in the dash but I haven't looked for the relay. Where would that be mounted? The glass has some scratches in it and two of the heating traces have been repaired at some point. Is it still worth messing with? Price would be "not much" considering the circumstances... Shipping would be a killer though. Wonder if there is actually going to be an H-body meet somewhere in northern Ohio?

I need a rear hatch glass but doesn't have to be heated. What are you asking? Need a windshield too if you have one.

Zeke has first shot at it. PM me if you're still interested.

I'd much prefer to knock the pins out and get rid of the hatch with glass. The hatch is rusty and has been "drilled" for a spoiler allowing for a wide adjustment range :) .

Anyone have a picture of the wires connecting to the traces? It looks like there should be some kind of sheath/cover for the wires. If I knew what they were supposed to look like I might find them in the pile of stuff that came with the car.

spyder_xlch, I need the front glass for my skyhawk. Sorry...
Have you tried http://car-part.com/ ?

I've been on car-parts.com but i wonder how up to date it is. I called a few yards that showed they had the glass but they said they didn't when i talked to them. I did locate front and rear glass at one yard and another yard has the rear glass only but it's $20 cheaper. The prices on car-parts weren't exact either.

Sorry, forgot about this thread!

Go ahead and sell the hatch eh, I've got too many other monza projects on the go. Shipping prob would suck too.

The electrical connector should just be a plastic covered single female #10 spade terminal X 2.

Relay should be in the harness under the dash somewhere.
