Rubber baby buggy bumpers for a '75

Postby kayak » Sun Feb 17, 2008 12:16 pm

Anyone have any ideas on fabricating a replacement rubber insert for my '75 S'hawk's front bumper?

The original is cracking in multiple places and other than the rubber bumper needing replacing, the rest of the bumper is in great shape.

I thought about fabricating a new one out of fiberglass using the old one to make a mold from, but other than that and finding a NOS replacement, I'm out of ideas.

Thanks,
Kurt

Other than finding a used one, you could try and repair it with a special material designed for repairing plastic bumpers. For as bad as yours is, ideally I think you would want to remove it from the car for a proper fix, this way you could also strengthen it from the back side. Email me, I think I have a brand new unopened box of the repair kit or can get some. cjbiagi@yahoo.com
