That is how I would do it, it lets you stretch your wheelbase a little also, which is good for a fast car..
keep taking pict of how you make the filler panel.. TC

That's the right way. As far as the filler panel, I guess ideally you'd cut it out of a donor car, or at that location it's pretty much a flat line, so it wouldn't be hard to bend one to match, and make it perfect with a little plastic filler. At least that's gonna be my plan on the Kammback.

If the tire in the pic is what you are going to run then yes, the openings look big. I'd close it up some. You're doing a good job though. Take pics of the progress.

Anybody got extra tin around the wheel well that they want to get rid of? If its a parts car..Just asking....it will save me alot of trial and error when fabbing them up.

If you happen to have a set of old junk front fenders laying around you can use a section out of them. Thats how i filled the gap on mine, my old front fenders were beyond repair. The lips are very close front and back. looks good bud!!!

This is my first post. I just got a 73 GT wagon and planed on stretching the wheel wells also. I saw year ago that J.C. Whitney had fiberglass stretched w/well outer panels. Is using them just asking for problems in the future and strecthing this way with metal the perferred method?
Thanks, Roger

The fiberglass wheel openings are pretty well the accepted method for a drag car; for a really nice street car stretching the steel lips will end up straighter if you know what you're doing with a mig welder.

and 4 more Saturn "parts cars"
Note- the very act of listing all of these has made me realize I have some kind of problem.....
