My 75 Vega came with a busted out side window.Got a glass (jon72vega)and the old rubber is still in the car.
Is there a trick to put the glass in?Going to try an reuse old rubber if i can.Any tips, tricks or advice?

Richard,

The best way to do it is to take the rubber out of the car and place it on the glass. Get a length of 1/4" or 3/8" nylon cord that will wrap around the the rubber with about 2' extra. Place the cord inside the pinch lip groove where both ends hang down in the middle. You need two people for the next step, one person on the inside of the car and the other on the outside. Spray WD40 or some other lubricant on the pinch lip and back side of rubber then place the rubber over the bottom part of the pinch lip with the cord hanging inside the car. While the person on the outside holds the window and pushes in lightly the person on the inside will take the cord on one end and start pulling the rubber to the inside of the car. You need to be careful depending on how pliable the rubber is because the harder it is the easier it will be to tear it. Sometimes it helps if you have some sort of dull tipped hook tool to help pull the corners in with. Good luck and I hope this helps.

When I read about this in the forums, I was a bit confused. This video clears it up:

Hope it helps the next person wondering about this.

Your welcome. I'm glad it worked out for you.
I worked in a glass shop for a couple of years and picked up a few tricks.
