Rear Quarter Help

Postby ironwillsv8vega » Sat Apr 23, 2011 7:59 pm

Hi guys, I have a '73 Vega Hatchback that the rear quarters were butchered out for some mega slicks. I'm going to put the wheel openings back to stock. Are all the rear quarters basically the same from like the window down? I found some on an Astre Sedan, but didn't want to get them if they were different. Only difference I can see is the gas filler, but I can close that up. Thanks for any help!! :th:

Hi,
the fenders changed mainly at the marker light area and bumper form area. in74 the gas filler opening was added to the quarter. the fenders of course also follow the same changes in notchback setups.

Ok thanks. My quarters are solid back by the bumper, so the biggest area I need to replace is the actual wheel opening. Do you think the wheel openings are the same? I could cut something like a patch panel and just replace the wheel opening, rather than the entire panel all the way to the back. Thanks Nick for the response.

Hi,
if you can find a rear quarter for your car great, if not ,then an earlier panel will mach up around the wheel well. you just have to transpose the gas filler opening like i have to do for mine.they are all the same shape around there.

Ok, just what I needed to know. I only need the wheel well and maybe 6" extra to cover what has been cut out. Thanks
