AC Delco Battery - Model Y86A

Postby grandpatom » Sun Nov 19, 2006 3:01 pm

Hello GM H-Body Organization Members from Colorado, When possible, please keep on the "lookout" for a special 1971 to 1977 Vega assembly line only AC Delco battery model Y86A ( Group Size 72 ) that is easy to visually identify with offset removable fill caps. I am continuing to search for the battery as part of my 1971 Chevrolet Vega GT car model restoration project.

Thank you for your assistance!

I really doubt you will have any luck finding that battery. The style with the fill caps toward the side was only installed at the factory for the purpose of the Vert-a-Pac shipping method. Even the replacement Delco battery of the time had the centered fill caps.
