So I took the car to the smog test and it failed on the first try for the gas cap and nox. Got another cap off one of my other cars and looked under the hood to see if anything was amiss and sure enough someone had removed and plugged off the egr vac. line. So I re connected it and went back to the testing facility and here is the result.

I cant believe that a 29 year old car that sat for five years could run so clean with out doing much of anything but adding gas.

A 2.8 liter engine? Zero C02? Top Secret car Len? :D Unbeliveable! :!:
Does it still have the factory " flounderfish" pellet converter on it?

Cool car

I would guess either the dealer dressed it up brand new (the last of em were slow movers) or more likely grandma's car got sported-up when handed down to a teenager. That kind of conversion happened to lots of base model H bodys in the mid/late 80s.

have fun with it

Patrick there is no need to kill youself over this one you have saved many and the timing for you was wrong but right for me and you got to drive it and that is more than some can say. And thanks again for all the help

Yea Doug I didn.t realize that they thought it had a 2.8l eng till after I posted the results. Yes it still has the origional cat in it.
Got it on a hoist today and took some pic's will post them later .

starfire 383 I have the build sheet for this car and everything that is on the car is listed in it so grandma had had some Ideas of her own and ordered it from the factory .

Quite honestly every time I drive this car and look at it I like it more and more Just wish there was a tail piece close at hand and for a reasonable price.
